I think this is my most successful image because it really shows the sun’s rays well, thanks to the smoky air in the forest. The smoke helped highlight the light and made the photo look more interesting.
The hardest part of this assignment was figuring out what kind of picture would work best for the explanatory photo. It was tough to decide how to show something clearly through just a photo.
Next time, I’ll give myself more time to plan out my photos. I’ll also try to shoot at a time when the lighting looks the best, so the pictures turn out clearer and more eye-catching.
I commented on Olivia Campbell's blog (click button below to access her blog):
Hi Olivia! I was drawn to this image because of the vibrancy of the flower as well as the clear definition of the photo. I agree the symmetry of the flower is also very visually appealing. I like how the flower stands out from the leaves due to the focus as well. I think adding a touch of soft light or enhancing the contrast just a bit could make the flower stand out even more.

Hi! I wanted to say that this photo, along with your theoretical photo, are stunning. I think pictures like this, that capture the natural beauty of our planet, are part of what make having modern cameras at all times amazing. I'm glad you were able to get this shot.
I think the theoretical image also provides some sort of commentary about photo editing. At least that is how I looked at it! The kaleidoscope makes it look like an ultra-edited image of flowers. I just think it is interesting because people tend to be more attracted to highly edited images of nature.

I think this forest picture is very interesting. The sunlight and the mist gives off an almost magical vibe. As a suggestion you could maybe tweak the exposure a little to make the mist and greenery stand out a little more. You could also try cropping the top and sides to zoom in on the light rays. Really nice pic!
